About Us
The Suncoast District of the Greater Tampa Bay Area Council, BSA serves all of Pasco County and is comprised of the former Allohak and Anclote Districts. Suncoast District has more than 40 units (Cub Scout Packs, Scouts BSA Troops and Exploring Clubs & Posts) and serves more than 1,200 youth.
The Greater Tampa Bay Area Council is one of the local councils in western Florida chartered by the Boy Scouts of America. The Council encompasses nine counties and serves more than 15,000 youth in 189 Cub Scout packs, 192 Scouts BSA, 36 Venturing Crews and 5 Sea Scout Ships and 26 Pathfinder Units. In addition to the Lewis Hill, III Service Center, located at 13228 N. Central Ave. in Tampa 33612, we maintain six camp properties: Camp Owen J. Brorein in Odessa, Camp Soule in Clearwater, Flaming Arrow Scout Reservation in Lake Wales, Sand Hill Scout Reservation in Brooksville, Big Foot Wilderness Camp in the Green Swamp, and Camp Alafia along the Alafia River in Lithia.
Scouting has continued on despite the COVID-19 pandemic. We continue to look to and rely on institutions and individuals that instill values, character, and leadership. For over 110 years, Scouting has prepared youth for life, and helped them have once in a lifetime experiences, make friends and grow physically, mentally, and spiritually. Let us put a focus on what Scouting does best – give back to our communities – so that we can make a positive impact and remind our neighbors of why Scouting matters.
