Pepin Academies Community Gala

Pepin Academies of Pasco is a not-for-profit, tuition-free school for students with learning disabilities which opened in August

Founded in 1999, with the help of Art Pepin (Pepin Distributing Founder), Pepin Academies,  committed to educating high school students with severe learning disabilities. A short time later, Pepin Academy expanded and enrollment has grown from 17 students in 1999 to over 800 students from elementary through twenty-two years of age this 2014-2015 school year. Aside from our main campus in Tampa, we have now added an additional campus in Riverview and Pasco County. Our goal is to make sure children in our community don’t fall through the cracks of the education system because of their disability.

The students we serve have associated documented disorders, syndromes, diseases, or other medical conditions that severely impact their learning such as Autism, Asperger's Syndrome, Attention Deficit Disorder with/without Hyperactivity, Tourette's Syndrome, Down Syndrome, Fragile X Syndrome, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Traumatic Brain Injury, Epilepsy, Cerebral Palsy, and Cystic Fibrosis. Our students represent a broad range of cognitive levels as well as cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.

There are over 500 leading Bay Area business men and women who attend, as well as Florida government officials.

Past years, former football coach’s Urban Meyer, Lou Holtz, and Greg Schiano were our guest speakers. They helped raise much needed dollars to benefit our students with learning disabilities. Last year’s speaker was Tampa Bay Lightning Owner, Jeff Vinik. This year we are proud to welcome, good friend to Pepin, Tony Dungy as our speaker.

Since we are a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, we keep our educational dollars in the classroom—depending on our Gala donations to invest in our yearly financial needs. All donations are tax-deductible and you will receive a letter acknowledging your donation for tax purposes (EIN 26-1710411).

Silent auction items are also wanted if you have a place of business that can provide a service or item, we would love to promote the business.
